How to create volume in hair while using a flat iron

 Sick of that flat against the face look, but love the straight hair that a flat iron gives you?

Here is a great way to create volume while keeping the straight look:

Use the flat iron as you normally would, straightening the underneath layers.  When you get to the top layers (from the ear up to the crown of your head) do the following technique:

Grasp the hair in one to two inch sections from the root with the flat iron.  Instead of pulling down towards your chin, pull straight out  - in line with your shoulder.  Letting the pieces fall as you get to the ends.  Repeat this process around your whole head and the top layers of your hair will have the fullness of a round brush blow out, while keeping the straight look!!
